Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq presided over the launch of the “She Power: Women’s Health Kits Project” at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, underscoring the importance of women’s health and education in fostering a progressive society. The initiative, focused on addressing health and hygiene challenges faced by women in Balochistan, reflects the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and China.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq praised the Chinese government’s role in supporting the project, which he described as a testament to the strong bilateral relations between the two countries. He expressed gratitude towards the Chinese Embassy for their dedication to the development and well-being of the people of Balochistan, particularly women.
During his address, Speaker Sadiq also highlighted several of his legislative efforts aimed at improving the lives of women and children, including the reconstitution of the Parliamentary Taskforce on Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on gender equality and health. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and other initiatives such as the National Parliamentary Meeting on Malnutrition of Mother and Child, and the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights.
The event also served as an occasion for Speaker Sadiq to reflect on the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China, especially in light of the expanding scope of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to include projects aimed at socio-economic development and poverty alleviation in Balochistan and other regions.
Speaker Sadiq concluded his remarks by reiterating the commitment of the Pakistani government to further strengthen the friendship with China and continue collaborative efforts to promote regional peace and development.
