Islamabad, 15 Oct 2023: The International Day for Rural Women is being observed today, focusing on the significant roles that rural women play in society. On this occasion, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf delivered a message urging a renewed commitment towards the empowerment of rural women, highlighting its importance for sustainable development.

He drew attention to the pivotal contributions of these women in fields like agriculture, food security, and rural development, terming them as the bedrock of progress. The Speaker stressed the importance of acknowledging the resilience and contribution of rural women. He further advocated for tangible measures to improve their quality of life, including enhanced healthcare and educational facilities.
