National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Stresses Kashmiris’ Right to Self-Determination on Martyrs Day


Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq commemorated Kashmir Martyrs Day by honoring the sacrifices made by Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom and self-determination from Indian rule.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Speaker Sadiq recalled the historical event of July 13, 1931, when 22 Kashmiris were killed by the troops of the Dogra Maharaja during a court proceeding in Srinagar. He highlighted the ongoing resistance against India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, condemning efforts by the Indian government to change the region’s demographic structure.



He affirmed Pakistan’s continued support for the Kashmiri people’s fight for their fundamental right to self-determination, urging the international community to address human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to resolve the dispute in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
