Islamabad, On the eve of the 146th birth anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Raja Pervez Ashraf, reflected on the poet and philosopher’s legacy, emphasizing his doctrines of self-reliance and self-determination as the foundation for Pakistan’s sustainable progress.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan highlighted Raja Pervez Ashraf’s homage to Iqbal’s vision for the nation and his historical advocacy for the Palestinian cause. Iqbal’s firm opposition to the Zionist agenda and his critical questions regarding territorial rights underscored his commitment to Muslim unity and resistance against oppression.
The Speaker encouraged the youth and the nation at large to embody Iqbal’s teachings of selfhood (khudi) and his message of love, hope, and unity. Through adhering to these principles, the Speaker suggested, Pakistan could overcome the contemporary challenges it faces.
