National Assembly Passes Two Key Bills, Introduces Three New Legislative Proposals


Islamabad: The National Assembly passed two significant bills today: “The Deposit Protection Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2024” and “The Establishment of Special Court (Overseas Pakistanis Property) Bill, 2024.”



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, three new bills were also introduced in the session. These include “The National Commission on the Status of Women (Amendment) Bill, 2024,” “The Pakistan Infrastructure Development and Assets Management Authority Bill, 2024,” and “The Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (Implementation) Bill, 2024.”



The Assembly resumed its discussion on judicial reforms, with PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf emphasizing the necessity of judicial reforms to ensure a more effective and accessible justice system. He highlighted the historical agreement on establishing a constitutional court, referencing the Charter of Democracy between the PPP and PML-N.



Several political leaders from various parties, including Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Ali Muhammad Khan, participated in the discussion, congratulating all involved in advancing judicial reforms. The Assembly will reconvene tomorrow at 3 p.m.
