National Assembly Leaders Laud Arshad Nadeem’s Historic Gold at Paris Olympics


Islamabad: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah congratulated the nation on the exceptional performance of Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem at the Paris Olympics, where he secured Pakistan’s first individual gold medal in track and field.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Nadeem not only won the gold medal but also broke the previous Olympic record with a throw surpassing 90.75 meters, a record set by Andreas Thorkildsen of the Netherlands during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This achievement marks him as the second South Asian to finish on the podium in track and field at the Olympics. His throw is now recorded as the sixth longest ever and the best globally this year.



Speaker Sadiq emphasized the vast potential of Pakistani youth, stating that Mr. Nadeem’s triumph is a testament to the hard work and determination that can lead to extraordinary achievements. Deputy Speaker Shah echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in Nadeem’s historic performance and the collective support of the nation’s prayers that played a crucial role in this victory.
