Karachi, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir graced the inauguration ceremony of the second chapter of the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) Silicon in Karachi today as the chief guest. During the event, General Munir hailed the NASTP as a pivotal project with substantial national and strategic value, poised to catalyze technological advancement and foster self-sufficiency in Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir commended the Pakistan Air Force, its leaders, and personnel for successfully reaching this new milestone with NASTP Silicon. He underscored the initiative’s potential in propelling the nation forward, particularly in nurturing the talents of Pakistan’s youth and future innovators.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, present at the ceremony, shared an ambitious vision for the NASTP. He envisioned it evolving into a leading hub for Aerospace, Cyber, and IT, transforming Pakistan’s landscape through cutting-edge design, research and development, and innovation centers. This transformation, he stated, is aimed at maximizing social, economic, security, and scientific benefits for the country.
Following the ceremony, General Munir visited the Corps Headquarters in Karachi. The Corps Commander of Karachi Corps received the Army Chief and briefed him on various aspects, including operational readiness, training initiatives, and administrative measures dedicated to the welfare of troops and families of the martyrs.
The inauguration of NASTP Silicon marks a significant step in Pakistan’s journey towards technological self-reliance and prowess, aligning with the broader goals of national development and security.
