Naseerabad: In a continued effort to regulate market prices and protect consumers, Munir Ahmed Kakar, the Deputy Commissioner of Naseerabad, has intensified inspections across local markets to ensure compliance with government-mandated price lists. During recent checks, fines totaling more than 4,500 rupees were imposed on several shopkeepers for overpricing.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Kakar inspected over 30 shops, focusing on vendors selling vegetables, fruits, and other food items. His actions underscore a broader initiative to prevent price gouging and maintain stable food prices within the region. Kakar has issued a stern warning to the local business community against the practice of hiking prices, stating that strict legal measures will be enforced to uphold the official price lists.
The administration has reiterated that no concessions will be granted to those found guilty of overpricing. This rigorous approach aims to alleviate the economic burden on consumers and ensure that essential goods are available at reasonable prices. Additionally, a price control committee has been activated to monitor and review food item prices daily, promising ongoing vigilance against price manipulation.
The district administration has announced that these efforts will persist, with the goal of providing relief to the residents of Naseerabad and maintaining market stability. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance consumer protection and support the local economy by ensuring fair trade practices.
