Naseerabad: In a comprehensive directive to bolster public service and prepare for potential flooding, Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmad Kakar emphasized the importance of governmental responsiveness and infrastructure readiness during a district officers’ meeting.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Kakar outlined several key initiatives during the meeting, attended by prominent local officials including Chairman Municipal Committee Mir Safdar Ali Imrani and Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hameed Thahim. He stressed the necessity of maintaining open offices and addressing the public’s problems promptly. Kakar highlighted the urgency of flood preparedness, calling for the availability of essential medicines and snake vaccines, and ensuring that medical staff are readily available at health centers to avoid any disruption in services. He also instructed that municipal and construction departments keep their machinery and staff prepared, particularly for reinforcing canal banks where flood risks are anticipated.
Addressing urban challenges, Kakar noted the issue of stagnant rainwater in the city due to uncleaned drains and urged the municipal committee to intensify their efforts in this area to alleviate public grievances and prevent waste disposal in drains by shopkeepers. Additionally, he pressed for the timely completion of ongoing construction projects and constant communication with higher authorities to ensure uninterrupted funding and progress. The Deputy Commissioner also demanded strict adherence to standards for providing clean water to the public, declaring no tolerance for lapses in this critical area.
