Naseerabad: In a recent meeting with the Balochistan Food Safety Team, Commissioner Naseerabad Division Moinur Rehman Khan emphasized the necessity of intensified efforts to combat the sale of adulterated food, including Asian food, ghee, and milk. The meeting highlighted the ongoing successes and challenges faced by the local food authority in ensuring food safety.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Commissioner was briefed by Dr. Mansoor Ahmad Bazai, Deputy Director of the Balochistan Food Safety Team Naseerabad Division, along with other officials including Salman Ali Joya, Food Safety Officer, and Rizwanullah, Mobile Lab In-charge. They discussed the achievements of the Food Authority in curbing the distribution of adulterated food products. Dr. Bazai reported that numerous batches of adulterated food have been discarded and fines imposed on violators.
During the meeting, Commissioner Khan inspected the mobile laboratory, a critical tool in the rapid testing of food samples for adulteration. The timely reports generated by this facility have been instrumental in initiating actions against unscrupulous traders. Emphasizing the severity of the issue, Commissioner Khan stated that vendors involved in the sale of adulterated food should face stringent penalties under the law. He affirmed his commitment to safeguarding public health and insisted on expanding the scope of the Food Authority’s operations to better address the issue.
Commissioner Khan also expressed his determination to never compromise on food safety and urged the Food Safety Officers to utilize all available resources to ensure the supply of pure and safe food to the public. He assured them of the full cooperation of the district administration in their endeavors to fulfill their duties.
