Naseerabad Authorities Crack Down on Ice Factories Overcharging During Heatwave

Naseerabad, Amid soaring temperatures, authorities in Naseerabad have taken decisive action against ice factories accused of exploiting the public by creating artificial shortages and inflating prices. This crackdown comes as part of efforts to ensure fair pricing and availability of essential commodities like ice during extreme weather conditions.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad Batul Asdi ordered a thorough inspection of three ice factories in Dera Murad Jamali. The operation, led by Assistant Commissioner Ajmal Khan Mandukhel and Tehsildar Gul Nawaz, resulted in fines totaling 27,000 rupees imposed for hygiene violations and overcharging. Deputy Commissioner Asdi emphasized that the public should not be burdened with high prices, especially during a heatwave, and declared a zero-tolerance policy towards those exploiting the situation.

The inspections also extended to the main market of Dera Murad Jamali City, where additional fines were levied against various shops for unrelated violations, including the possession and sale of banned substances like Chinese salt and food coloring. The comprehensive approach underscores the administration’s commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and maintaining strict regulatory oversight during critical periods.
