ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called upon religious scholars to disseminate messages of peace and brotherhood and to actively contribute to fostering unity across different segments of society.
According to Radio Pakistan, Naqvi made these remarks while speaking at the Interfaith Harmony Conference organized by the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee in Islamabad. The Minister lauded the efforts of the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee in promoting interfaith harmony and curbing sectarianism within the community.
Naqvi encouraged the Ulema to confront challenges to state authority and other forms of terrorism, supporting governmental measures to address these issues. He emphasized that while there are no restrictions on processions, organizers should notify local authorities in advance to ensure the safety and security of participants and routes.
The Interior Minister also urged the religious leaders to establish and activate the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee at the district level nationwide. Addressing the broader global context, Naqvi praised the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, in facilitating a deal between the United States and Iran. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s leadership and the Field Marshal’s on-field role, noting their contributions during conflicts with India. The Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, was also in attendance at the conference.
