NANKANA, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, met with District Police Officer (DPO) Nankana, Sayed Aziz, and his team at the Central Police Office to review the yearly performance of Nankana Police under the Police Station Diaries initiative.
According to Punjab Police, DPO Nankana, Sayed Aziz, presented a comprehensive briefing on the police’s performance throughout the year. The Nankana police successfully recovered stolen property and cash worth Rs. 10.84 crores from robbers and criminals, and registered 908 cases against illegal weapons, resulting in significant arms and ammunition recoveries. Additionally, the police resolved 63 murder cases, including tracing five blind murders, and arrested 1,717 proclaimed offenders.
The crackdown against drug trafficking led to substantial seizures, including 305 kg of charas, over 9 kg of heroin, and thousands of liters of alcohol. Notably, a 16-year-old abducted girl was rescued, and several stolen vehicles and items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. The police also promoted 174 officers and officials based on merit.
During the meeting, Sikh leader Sardar Surjit Singh Kanwal and Member Peace Committee Prof. Dr. Allama Mohib-ul-Nabi Tahir met with IG Punjab, discussing security for Gurdwaras and promoting inter-faith harmony. IG Punjab commended the Nankana police for their effective handling of robbery, kidnapping, and murder cases and emphasized the continued use of modern technology to protect citizens and improve public service delivery.
