Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced significant initiatives to improve public accessibility to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) services, including the issuance and renewal of identity cards at the union council level across Pakistan. During his visit to NADRA headquarters, several proposals were discussed to make the authority more user-friendly.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting led by Naqvi resulted in the decision to install biometric machines at all union councils nationwide to streamline ID card services. The Interior Minister emphasized the importance of a foolproof and efficient identity card system and directed NADRA to devise plans to enhance service delivery and expand the number of NADRA centers in major cities within a week. Naqvi also highlighted the need for stringent measures against the fake identity card mafia and commended the efforts of NADRA’s leadership and team for their ongoing digital monitoring advancements.
