Islamabad, The Awareness & Prevention (A&P) Wing of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) organized various competitions, including essay writing, poster/painting, and declamation contests, in collaboration with provincial educational and social welfare departments and TEVETA. These events were part of the Annual Plan 2023 to enhance awareness and outreach against corruption.
According to Press Information Department, the essay writing competitions, conducted in both Urdu and English, focused on themes related to honesty and the dishonor of corruption. A total of 71 students participated across different educational levels, including schools, colleges, universities, and technical institutions. Cash prizes totaling Rs. 48,000 were awarded to the top position holders by the Director General of NAB KP. Participants and judges also received certificates. The poster/painting competition with an Anti-Corruption theme saw participation from 48 students, with cash prizes worth Rs. 24,000 distributed among the winners. Special children were also recognized and awarded school bags, pens, and cash prizes. The provincial level declamation contests, held in Urdu and English, attracted 90 participants, with cash prizes worth Rs. 48,000 awarded to the top contestants. Waqar Ahmad Chauhan, DG NAB (KP), and Mian Muhammad Waqar, Director A&P, addressed the participants during the award ceremony. DG NAB (KP) emphasized the crucial role of awareness and adherence to moral principles in combating corruption and urged the youth to practice honesty and integrity. He reaffirmed NAB’s commitment to creating a corruption-free Pakistan.
