NAB Balochistan Steps Up to Enhance Business Environment

Quetta, In an effort to foster a favorable business climate, the Business Facilitation Desk at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan held a pivotal meeting with the Patron-in-Chief of the Chamber of Commerce in District Pishin. This meeting aligns with the vision of the NAB Chairman to improve interactions between the anti-corruption agency and the business community.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Director General of NAB Balochistan presided over the discussion, which also saw participation from officers of the Business Facilitation Desk. The session is part of a broader initiative by NAB, which includes the establishment of Business Facilitation Cells at NAB headquarters in Islamabad and desks across all regional bureaus, to streamline processes and address the concerns of the business sector effectively.

The Patron-in-Chief at the meeting underscored several issues impeding business operations, including governmental delays, bribery, and extortion. He also pointed out that poor representation of the business community, ineffective policies, limited cooperation between institutions, and inactive commerce chambers contribute to these challenges.

The meeting highlighted the potential for NAB to play a significant role in mediating between different stakeholders, such as government bodies and chambers of commerce, to resolve these issues. It was reaffirmed that NAB is committed to using its mandate to assist the business community in overcoming corruption, smuggling, and unlawful financial demands, thereby promoting economic development.
