Islamabad, June 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):A meeting for the election of the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Planning Development and Special Initiatives was held today at 4:30 p.m. in the Committee Room No. 7, Fourth Floor, Parliament House, and Islamabad.

2. The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Then, the Joint Secretary, Committees Wing, National Assembly Secretariat, welcomed the Honorable Members and briefed them about the procedure for election of the Chairperson.

3. Mr. Junaid Anwar Chaudhary, MNA, Member of the Standing Committee on Planning Development and Reform proposed the name of Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA, as the Chairman of the Committee. The proposal was seconded by Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla, MNA, and accordingly Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA, was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.

4. The Chief Whip congratulated the newly elected Chairman and assured that the Government shall provide all possible support of for effective and meaningful working of the Committee. Afterwards, the Chairman gave a note of thanks to the members which was responded by the felicitation notes from each member with the assurance of supporting the Chairman on all matters in the national interest of Pakistan.

5. Honorable Members/MNAs Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary, Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Mr. Naveed Dero, Syed Agha Rafiullah, Chaudhary Salik Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla, Mr. Nawab Sher and the Chief Whip Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi attended the meeting.
