Islamabad, July 19, 2023 (PPI-OT): 21″ meeting of the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs held today at 11:00 am this morning in Committee Room No. 07, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Abubakar. MNA. The Hon. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, assured that Ministry had started working on the recommendations mentioned earlier about advertisement.
The Committee directed that M/o Parliamentary Affairs may engage National Data Base Registration Authority (NADRA) on public grievances at the District level including MNA’s and MPA’s as 95% of the issues emerge from the Provinces. The Committee further directed that M/o Parliamentary Affairs may write a letter to Hon. Prime Minister for approval of manufacturing of Grievances Cell at the Provincial level and public hearings (Khulli Kachehri) at Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Offices at the District level.
The Committee recommended that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to come up with a system to ensure the correct allocation of polling stations in urban areas as it had been considered more than 60% of people are living on rental addresses and policy specifically for them must be developed and presented in the next meeting. The Committee recommended that ECP may follow existing forms of the Elections Act of 2017 (A and B) and abide any amendments that are made, all the amendments that are made in this Act should be removed.
