Islamabad, September 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior meet today at 11:30 00 a.m. in the Constitution Room (Committee No.5) 2nd Floor Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Malik Ahmad Hussain Deharr, MNA,

2. The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Committee deferred the Bills in the agenda for next meeting. Therefore, the Committee in the premier meeting only took the briefing on the performance, general overview from each Wing/Department of the Ministry. The Secretary to M/O Interior and Senior officers of the following departments gave the briefing, on performance, achievements, issues and challenges and way-forward to resolve the problems:
ICT and CDA. NACTA, NADRA, Immigration and Passport office

3. The Committee expressed displeasure over non-preparation/revising of 1960’s Old Master Plan of the CDA, The Committee took serious notice and issued the directions for preparation of new Master Plan as soon as possible. The Committee also expressed its concern over delay in non-completion of Islamabad development projects by ICT/CDA and issued the directions to ICT/CDA for early completion of under taken project in the best interest of Public particularly Bara Kahu by-pass project.

The Committee showed concern regarding non-filling of vacant post in NACTA and in this regard issued the directions for filling such vacant posts in the NACTA as early as possible on merit. The Committee also expressed concerned over delay in issuance of e-passport, and also issued the directions to Immigration and Passport Office for early completion of e-Passport and implementation/compliance within three months.

4. The Committee issued the directions to Ministry and rest of the departments/wings including FIA, Immigration and Passport Office and NADRA for giving their presentations in the next meeting of the Committee.

5.The meeting was attended by Honourable MNAs, Malik Sohail Khan, Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan, Mr. Nadeem Abbas, Syed Agha Rafiullah, Mr. Sajid Mehdi, Mr. Usman Qadri, Makhdoom Syed Sami-ul-Hassan Gillani, MNA and Senior officers from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law and Justice, ICT and CDA, NACTA, NADRA and Immigration and Passport Office to attended the meeting.
