Islamabad: On the anniversary of the devastating October 8, 2005 earthquake, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended his deep condolences to the families of the victims, reflecting on the tragedy that united the nation in grief and solidarity. The earthquake, which claimed over 80,000 lives, primarily in Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas, marks a significant moment of national unity and resilience.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq emphasized the collective efforts of Pakistanis who provided social and financial support to the affected regions, praising the nationwide rescue and relief operations that followed the disaster. His message underscored the strength and courage derived from this unity, which significantly aided the mental and physical recovery of the survivors.
