Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has extended his congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers of the Parliamentary Reporters Association of Pakistan (PRAP). In the recent elections, M.B. Soomro was elected as President, with Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar as Vice President, Naveed Akbar as Secretary, and Aurangzeb Kakar as Joint Secretary. Shakir Abbasi, Javed Hussain, Asiya Ansar, Ahmad Nawaz Khan, Hafiz Abdul Majeed, Umar Hayat Khan, Javed Noor, Ghulam Rasool Kunbhar, and Rozeena Ali also secured positions within the Executive and Governing Body.
In his message, Speaker Sadiq emphasized the significance of the elections being conducted smoothly and in line with democratic traditions. He highlighted this as a reflection of the unity and dedication of the parliamentary reporters, noting that the confidence shown in the newly elected leaders is evident through their success.
Speaker Sadiq expressed optimism that the new Executive Body of PRAP will effectively address the challenges faced by parliamentary journalists and further enhance their professional contributions. He acknowledged the essential role of the Press Gallery and parliamentary reporters in disseminating legislative proceedings and public issues to the citizens.
Furthermore, the Speaker assured the newly elected PRAP leadership of the National Assembly Secretariat’s continued support. He reiterated the importance of maintaining close and cordial relations, a practice upheld by the Secretariat over the years. Speaker Sadiq conveyed his best wishes for the success and achievements of PRAP’s new leadership.
