Islamabad, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf commemorated the 56th Foundation Day of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), acknowledging its deep-rooted presence in the hearts of Pakistanis. In his message, he paid tribute to the party’s founding leader, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and highlighted the PPP’s representation of the poor, farmers, farm workers, and the middle class.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Ashraf reflected on the PPP’s journey, led by Ms. Nusrat Bhutto and Ms. Benazir Bhutto after Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s martyrdom, and the sacrifices made for democracy. He acclaimed Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed’s efforts in restoring democracy and said her sacrifices would be remembered in golden letters.
The Speaker noted the widespread popularity of the PPP, from Karachi to Kashmir, and its commitment to developing Pakistan and elevating the lives of the less privileged. He lauded the party’s role in establishing the constitution, the nuclear program, universities, educational institutions, and hospitals. Ashraf also recognized the PPP’s success in enacting the 18th Amendment, demonstrating its belief in democracy and federal unity.
Ashraf called upon PPP workers to spread the ideology and message of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto under the leadership of former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
