Islamabad, Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, emphasized the critical role of women’s empowerment in driving the country’s development and prosperity. He voiced these sentiments during a session where a motion was unanimously passed to establish a special committee aimed at enhancing women’s socio-economic inclusion.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq highlighted the importance of including women in all socio-economic spheres as essential for their social inclusion and the country’s advancement. He noted that ensuring the security and well-being of women is fundamental to achieving true empowerment.
The newly formed committee, comprising members from both the Senate and the National Assembly, is tasked with proposing initiatives to empower women. Speaker Sadiq also addressed the need for enhanced security measures for women, referencing a recent harassment incident involving a woman SSP in Lahore. He assured full cooperation from the National Assembly Secretariat to support the effective functioning of the committee.
