ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has commended the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for its recent performance, highlighting substantial financial recoveries.
During a meeting with NAB Chairman Lt. Gen (Retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt at Parliament House, Sadiq noted the bureau’s significant recoveries, totaling 5,311 billion rupees from October to December 2023. He emphasized that these achievements reflect NAB’s evolution into an apolitical and reliable entity.
Sadiq expressed his satisfaction with NAB’s austerity measures and its digital transformation through AI-based systems. He praised the bureau’s efforts in facilitating complaints and the comprehensive automation of its processes.
The Speaker also acknowledged the establishment of Special Accountability Facilitation Desks across all provinces, which aim to make NAB more business-friendly and contribute to the country’s economic stability.
In response, Chairman Butt reaffirmed his commitment to further transforming NAB into a model institution and presented the NAB Annual Report 2023-2024 to the National Assembly Speaker.
