SRINAGAR, In Udhampur district of the contested region of Jammu and Kashmir, a man’s body was discovered under puzzling circumstances, fueling suspicions of wrongdoing.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, the body of Puran Chand, also known as Kewal, aged 42, was found in an unclothed state in the Lakhera Nallah of the Basantgarh area. Locals who stumbled upon the body promptly alerted the police. Responding swiftly, a police team transported the body to the Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) Basantgarh for autopsy procedures. Chand was identified as a laborer.
Signs of violence were evident on the deceased’s neck and abdomen, leading the police to assert that this was a clear incident of murder. Their initial inquiries corroborated the theory of a deliberate act of violence, pointing to the possibility that Chand was murdered by unidentified individuals.
In a separate incident in the Poonch district’s Harni area, a tragic collision took the life of a young man named Wahid Rashid Khan, aged 24. Khan’s motorcycle collided with a tractor, resulting in his untimely demise.
