Muzaffarabad Seminar Highlights Concerns Over Detained Hurriyat Leaders’ Conditions

MUZAFFARABAD, A seminar in Muzaffarabad, organized by the Youth Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Shabab-ul-Muslimeen, brought to light the dire circumstances of Hurriyat leaders and activists detained in jails across India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was chaired by the Chairman of Union Council, Muzaffarabad, Iqbal Yasin Awan, with Member of Zakat Council, Amin Butt, serving as the chief guest. The speakers at the seminar praised the Hurriyat leaders and activists for their resilience and sacrifices in the face of Indian oppression. They highlighted the detainees’ fortitude in enduring harsh conditions and expressed grave concern over their health and separation from their families.

The plight of these detainees, many of whom suffer from severe illnesses without access to basic medical care, was a focal point of discussion. The speakers emphasized that these leaders have been imprisoned far from their families, some for decades.

Moreover, the seminar paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir, reaffirming a commitment to continue their mission until the desired objectives are achieved. The speakers vowed to safeguard the Muslim identity of Kashmir under any circumstances and condemned forced evictions in the region.

The seminar concluded with a call to international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), urging them to intervene against India’s alleged state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and support the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Distinguished guests, including Amin Butt, Iqbal Yasin Awan, Mufti Muhammad Maruf Jalali, Bushra Bukhari, Usman Ali Hashim, Riaz Ahmed Awan, Tanveer Naqvi, Saira Chishti, Javaid Mir, Ashfaq Kashmiri, and Faizullah Durrani, delivered addresses at the event.
