Muzaffarabad, A significant seminar titled Role of Women, Youth and Diaspora on Kashmir was held in Muzaffarabad, organized by the Scholars Youth Forum. The event brought together various stakeholders to discuss the empowerment and involvement of women, youth, and the diaspora in the Kashmir issue.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar featured Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mashal Malik, as the special guest. Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Right to Self-Determination International, Raja Najabat Hussain, was also in attendance.
During the seminar, Mashal Malik, the Chief Guest, emphasized the severe human rights violations allegedly being committed by India in Occupied Kashmir. She stressed the need for international attention and action regarding the Kashmir issue. Malik highlighted the importance of bringing the situation in Kashmir to the forefront of global discourse.
The seminar coincided with the anniversary of the United Nations January 5 resolution on Kashmir. This resolution, adopted by the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP) in 1949, is a cornerstone document advocating for a free and fair plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. The event underscored the resolution’s significance in the ongoing struggle for self-determination by the Kashmiri people.
The gathering in Muzaffarabad was a platform for discussing strategies to amplify the voices and roles of women, youth, and the Kashmiri diaspora in the region’s political and social landscape. The seminar aimed to foster a more inclusive approach to addressing the Kashmir issue, ensuring diverse perspectives and contributions are recognized and integrated into the broader dialogue.
