Muzaffarabad Seminar Advocates for Global Focus on Kashmir Dispute

MUZAFARABAD, The Kashmir Women Alert Forum (KWAF) hosted a pivotal seminar in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, seeking to shine an international spotlight on the longstanding Kashmir conflict. Under the theme “Kashmir: History and Present Situation and the Solutions,” the seminar brought together prominent figures from diverse sectors who emphasized the urgency of achieving a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue.

According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, notable speakers and panelists presented their analyses and perspectives on the multifaceted dimensions of the Kashmir dispute. Ms. Madiha Shakil, a lecturer from Azad Jammu and Kashmir University (AJKU), initiated the discourse, emphasizing Azad Kashmir’s role in advocating for the rights and freedom of occupied Kashmir. This set the stage for a robust debate about the paramount importance of solidarity in Kashmir’s liberation efforts.

Dr. Sajjad, leading the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Commission (JKLC), outlined the historical backdrop and present-day realities facing Kashmir. He highlighted the paramount importance of peaceful dialogues and global involvement to navigate the intricacies of the dispute.

Contributing to the dialogue, Dr. Abdul Kareem, Principal of Post Graduate College (PGC), emphasized education’s role in enhancing understanding and fostering compassion concerning the Kashmir situation. Adding to the conversation, both Nadeem Razaq, Secretary of Education, and Mumtaz Tahir, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Muzafarabad, discussed the crucial role of engaging the youth and the administrative apparatus in the quest for a just outcome.

Concluding the array of presentations, Ms. Samia Raja, Chairperson of KWAF, spotlighted the consequential role of women in addressing the Kashmir issue. She asserted the central position women hold in championing peace and pushing forward toward resolving the ongoing conflict.

The seminar reached its climax with an interactive Q and A session, fostering active participation from attendees keen on delving deeper into the topics discussed. The event successfully instilled a reinforced sense of commitment and unity among the participants, emphasizing the collective aspiration for a peaceful conclusion to the Kashmir conflict.
