ISLAMABAD: Mustafa Kamal, Minister for National Health Services, has extended an assurance of full governmental support to Chinese investors in Pakistan’s burgeoning pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. His remarks came during the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference on Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare and Biotechnology, where he emphasized the removal of obstacles for Chinese investments.
According to Radio Pakistan, Kamal underscored the immense potential within Pakistan’s pharmaceutical and healthcare markets, encouraging Chinese stakeholders to participate. He cited significant reforms within the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), highlighting its transformation into a more dynamic entity. The minister noted that the digitization of processes has drastically shortened the medical device registration timeline from two and a half years to approximately twenty days. In the past eight months, DRAP has processed 4,700 registration cases, illustrating increased efficiency and commitment to facilitating foreign investment.
