Muslims Targeted in Violent Assaults by Hindutva Forces in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: In a series of violent incidents in Uttar Pradesh, three Muslims, including a woman, were assaulted by members of Hindutva groups, raising serious concerns about religious intolerance and law enforcement in the BJP-governed state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in one incident in the Quarsi area, a Muslim man named Nazim was stripped and beaten by a mob for speaking with a Hindu woman. The assault was recorded and the disturbing footage has since gone viral, showing the victim being interrogated and mistreated by the crowd. In another case, a minor Muslim boy was attacked at Malkhan Singh District Hospital in the Bandevi area after his religious identity was disclosed to a group who then brutally assaulted him on the hospital’s roof. Despite his pleas, the attack continued, and it was also recorded and shared online. The victim’s family stated he remained silent about the ordeal due to threats to his life from the attackers.

In a separate incident in Meerut district, a man named Vishal Thakur was arrested after video footage of him assaulting and molesting a burqa-clad woman surfaced on social media, leading to public outrage and his subsequent arrest.

These incidents have highlighted the growing trend of targeted violence against Muslims in Uttar Pradesh, prompting calls for immediate and effective action to ensure the safety of minority communities in the region.
