Muslim Youth in Jharkhand Forced to Chant Hindu Slogan During Assault

Ranchi: In a distressing incident in Ranchi, Jharkhand, a Muslim youth, Obaidullah Hasnain, was reportedly assaulted and compelled to chant the Hindu slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram’ by a group identified as part of a Hindutva gang. The attack, which involved physical abuse and resulted in serious injuries, occurred in the Hindpidhi area of the state’s capital.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the altercation began late at night when Hasnain was running an errand near the Hindi School. He was confronted and verbally abused by several individuals. His objections led to a physical confrontation where he was encircled and pressured to chant the slogan. “A group of individuals from nearby temples joined the assault, beating me with sticks until I fell unconscious,” Hasnain recounted. He suffered a severe fracture in his hand and was eventually rescued by family members who transported him to Hindpuri police station to file a complaint. Despite the severity of the incident, no actions have reportedly been taken by the authorities so far.
