Muslim Youth Assaulted by Mob in West Bengal on Unfounded Theft Allegations

Kolkata: A Muslim man was violently attacked by a group of Hindu extremists in Howrah, West Bengal, falsely accused of theft, in an incident reflecting the rising communal tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the assault on Sheikh Masood-ul-Hassan, known locally as Manto, occurred in the Bankra area. He was attacked while en route to a friend’s house around 9 pm.
