Muslim political jailed leaders sentenced to 10 / four years in prison

Ghazipur, April 30, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Hindutva BJP-RSS authorities, eliminating Muslim political leaders from politics, have now sentenced former Member of Legislative Assembly Mukhtar Ansari and his brother and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Parliament Afzal Ansari to 10 and four years, respectively, in jail in an old fake case in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Uttar Pradesh Indian state.

The court, dominated by BJP-RSS, sentenced former MLA Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal Ansari to 10 and four years, respectively, in prison in a 2007 fake case.

The BSP leader and MP, Afzal Ansari, faces disqualification from Indian Lok Sabha after a court in Ghazipur sentenced him to four years in jail in the fake case.

Earlier in the day, the same court sentenced Afzal’s younger brother, former MLA Mukhtar Ansari, who is currently in Banda jail, to 10 years in jail in the same case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on Mukhtar Ansari.

It may be noted that a case was registered against Mukhtar and Afzal related to the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai in 2005 and kidnapping of Vishwa Hindu Parishad office-bearer Nandkishore Rungta in 1996 by unknown persons.

Afzal Ansari, his brother Mukhtar Ansari and brother-in-law Ejazul Haque were booked in the same case in 2007. Ejazul Haque has passed away. The hearing in this case was completed on April 1.

Earlier this month Indian police and their agencies killed a prominent jailed Muslim political leader MP Atique Ahmad, his brother and two of his jailed family members in police custody in a fake encounter in Uttar Pradesh state. The aim of the BJP and RSS is to eliminate Muslim leaders and their political dominance in the state for their upcoming Indian parliament election.
