Muslim Man Kills Family in UP, Citing Threats from Land Mafia

Lucknow: In a disturbing incident reported in Uttar Pradesh, a 24-year-old Muslim man named Arshad has confessed to killing his mother and four sisters, claiming he acted out of fear that they would be exploited by a land mafia allegedly supported by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and police.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Arshad, a resident of Budaun, detailed the crime in a video, stating that he sought to protect his family from further harm at the hands of the mafia. The tragic event unfolded at Hotel Sharanjit in Lucknow, where Arshad expressed his desperate actions to safeguard his family’s honor, fearing they might be trafficked to Hyderabad.

In the video shared across social media platforms, Arshad alleged that the land mafia had already seized a significant portion of his family’s property in Budaun and were threatening to take the remainder. He accused the mafia of having connections with local law enforcement and political figures, further complicating his family’s plight.

He described the land mafia’s campaign against his family, which included spreading false information labeling them as “Bangladeshis” and accusing them of trafficking women. Arshad recounted, “I was forced to kill my sisters by choking them and slitting their wrists,” as he explained the extreme measures he took alongside his father.

This case underscores the mounting challenges faced by minority communities in India, particularly Muslims, who are increasingly susceptible to exploitation by influential criminal organizations.
