Aurangabad, April 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Sheikh Muniroddin, a 45-year-old Muslim man was killed by the police firing during Ram Navami violence in Kiradpura, Maharashtra. The family of the deceased has urged for a thorough investigation into his death and also objected to the police including him in the list of rioters in the First Information Report (FIR) connected to the violence on the day of Ramnavmi.

“There was total chaos outside our apartment. My father went downstairs and was standing inside the locked gate of our apartment when he was hit by the bullet,” Times of India quoted the son of the deceased as saying. In Kiradpura, violence broke out after Hindutva organisations began shouting derogatory epithets about Muslims. The police used lathicharge and teargas and a bullet was fired at Sheikh Muniroddin. He passed away on Thursday night at hospital, where he was being treated.
