Bihar: A Muslim woman and her family were assaulted by two men posing as police officers, The incident took place in Sitamarhi, Bihar, where the perpetrators forced their way into the home of Reshami Khatoon, a widow, and assaulted her, her elderly mother, and young daughter.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event occurred in the last week of December when the men, dressed in civilian clothing, entered Reshami’s home. Reshami recounted the experience in an interview, describing how the men broke in, used vulgar language, and assaulted her when she questioned their identity. Her elderly mother, who has heart issues, was also attacked despite attempting to intervene.
Reshami identified one of the attackers as Sonu Yadav, while the other falsely claimed to be a Station House Officer. The family was threatened with further violence, compelling them to flee their home. They were later prevented from seeking medical help, as the attackers called the police to intimidate them further.
The family has faced ongoing challenges, as Reshami’s son, Urooj Khan, was previously falsely implicated in a case. Despite petitions to authorities and support from local residents, no action has been taken, raising tensions for the family.
