Muslim Bagh and Doab Teams Triumph at Zhob’s Mega Sports Festival

Zhob: The Mega Sports Festival, a significant event under the All Balochistan Education Minister Mega Sports Festival, concluded recently with its final matches and prize distribution ceremony at the Government Boys Degree College, Zhob. Teams from various colleges within the Zhob Division competed in a week-long series of sports, culminating in cricket and football finals that saw Government Boys Degree College Muslim Bagh and Government Boys Degree College Doab emerge as winners in their respective sports.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the festival featured a series of weekly sports activities organized across different colleges in the Zhob Division. The closing ceremony was marked by the presence of notable officials including Zeeshan Javed Lashari, Commissioner of Zhob Division, who served as the chief guest. The ceremony also welcomed Deputy Director of Colleges Sardar Sadiq Khan Kabzai, and Haji Muhammad Khan Kabzai, District Chairman of Zhob, among other dignitaries.

The final cricket match was a contest between Government Boys Degree College Zhob and Government Boys Degree College Muslim Bagh, with the latter securing victory. In football, the final match saw Government Boys Degree College Doab competing against Government Boys Degree College Qila Saif, with Doab’s team winning the competition. Professors from the Government Boys Degree College Zhob, including Shahzad Iqbal, Umar Khattab, and Akhtar Khan Babar, played key roles in facilitating the sports events.

The event was also notable for the supervision of Professor Zalekha Karim, Focal Person for the Mega Sports Festival and Principal of Government Physical Education College, Quetta, who oversaw all the festival activities. The closing remarks highlighted the importance of sports and recreational activities in education, praising government support for such initiatives.

Furthermore, special accolades were given to the management committee members and the event organizers, with Professor Syed Tahir Shah Agha, Principal of Government Boys Degree College Zhob, expressing gratitude towards all participants and guests for their involvement and support.

The festival not only provided a platform for showcasing athletic talents but also emphasized the role of sports in fostering teamwork and discipline among students. The participants and winners received special prizes, shields, and awards, marking a memorable closure to the sports festivity.
