Islamabad, August 24, 2021 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a condolence meeting in Islamabad to pay tribute to Hurriyat leaders, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani and Dr Abdul Aala on their death anniversaries. The APHC-AJK Convener, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, chaired the meeting.
The speakers on the occasion said that Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Dr Abdul Aala started their political journey with an organization called Al-Fatah, formed for the liberation of Kashmir and as members of this organization they endured the hardships of imprisonment. They said both the leaders were committed and worked day and night to take the Kashmir dispute to its logical conclusion and finally rendered their lives.
The speakers paid tributes to the two Kashmiri leaders and said that they had always insisted on a united front and the unity was still needed today. They said that India was currently massacring the Kashmiri people and wanted the Kashmiri people to give up their legitimate struggle. The only way to stop the treacherous enemy from its intentions was unity and consensus, they added. At the end of the meeting, prayers were offered for the martyrs of Kashmir and determination was expressed to continue the liberation movement till complete success.
The Convener of APHC-AJK Chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Mustafa Muhammad Hussain, Mir Tahir Masood, Abdul Majeed Mir, Hassan Al-Bana, Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Rafiq Ahmad Dar, Nisar Mirza, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Nazir Ahmed Karnai, Imtiaz Wani, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Advocate Pervez Ahmad, Raja Khadim Hussain, Haji Muhammad Sultan Butt, Kifiayat Hussain Rizvi, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, Gulshan Ahmad, Dawood Yousuf Zai, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Syed Mushtaq Hussain, Syed Manzoor Ahmad Shah and Muhammad Shafi Dar paid rich tributes to them.
Meanwhile, Vice chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF), Altaf Hussain Wani, has paid homage to the deceased liberation leaders Advocate Mushtaq Ahmed Wani and Dr Abdul Aala for their peerless contribution to the Kashmir cause.
In a statement issued in Islamabad on Tuesday, Altaf Wani said that the duo had struggled and devoted their entire lives for the noble cause of freedom. Referring to their indomitable role in the ongoing freedom struggle, he said the deceased leaders have been on the forefront of the liberation movement and played a vital role in before and after the initiation of the ongoing resistance struggle in early 90s.
Lauding their services for the collective cause of freedom, the National Front leader said that the deceased leaders would always be remembered in the annals of Kashmir history for their unprecedented political and social services.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement the JKNF leader while voicing his concern over the stepped-up human rights violations and state-terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir said that the Modi led fascist regime was hell bent on choking every dissenting voice in Kashmir through the use of its repressive state apparatus and draconian laws enforced in the territory.
Referring to the media reports regarding the BJP government’s plan to impose sanctions on All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), he said that India must bear in mind the fact that banning political activities and political platforms would neither change the reality of the Kashmir dispute nor would it change ground reality in the region.
