Mushaal urges Muslim world to take concrete steps for Yasin Malik’s release

Islamabad, May 28, 2022 (PPI-OT): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organisation and wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that the Muslim world should not merely condemn and express reservations over Yasin Malik’s life sentence but should take steps to ensure his immediate release.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick addressing a press conference in Islamabad along with former Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that Yasin was sentenced to life imprisonment in fake and fictitious cases and called upon the international community, in general, and the Muslim world, in particular, to take practical and concrete steps for his safe release.

She urged the United Nations and world powers to take note of India’s efforts to link Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for self-determination with terrorism. She added that Yasin Malik’s only crime was to fight against Indian slavery and refused to surrender to fascist Narendra Modi’s regime.

Mushaal Mullick said that Yasin was the symbol of resistance of Kashmiris and the most powerful voice of the freedom movement, therefore, the authorities implicated him in false cases to keep him away from the freedom movement.

She said she demands unconditional release of her husband and all Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in Indian jails. She lamented that the Hindutva government had resorted to cheap tactics to silence the Hurriyat leader’s one after another to extinguish the flames of the ongoing liberation movement in Kashmir

She said that unfortunately the United Nations and international human rights organizations had never made serious efforts to save unarmed Kashmiris from execution and extrajudicial killings. She said that India was trying to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination but it would never succeed in its nefarious designs.
