Mushaal Hussein Mullick Highlights Kashmiri Women’s Suffering Under Indian Rule

Muzaffarabad, In a compelling plea for international attention, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, former special assistant to the prime minister on human rights and women empowerment, highlighted the severe plight of women in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Speaking at a seminar in Muzaffarabad, she called on the world to acknowledge and act against the injustices faced by Kashmiri women under Indian authority.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mullick, also the wife of incarcerated Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, dedicated her speech to the resilience and bravery of Kashmiri women who stand firm in the face of Indian state terrorism. Despite their crucial role in the freedom movement, she lamented the inhumane treatment they endure, particularly highlighting the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war by Indian forces aimed at quelling their fight for self-determination.

Mullick criticized the Narendra Modi-led Indian government for turning the picturesque valley into a living hell for its women, where their dignity and lives are perpetually at risk. She strongly condemned the global disparity in attention towards women’s rights, urging that the struggles of women in Kashmir and Palestine deserve as much focus as those in Western countries.

She demanded that international powers, the United Nations, and human rights organizations take immediate steps to address the war crimes and widespread abuses against women in IIOJK. By calling for accountability, Mullick seeks to bring to the forefront the urgent need for justice and support for the most oppressed segment of the Kashmiri society.
