Mushaal Hussein Mullick Calls for International Intervention in Kashmir Crisis

Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of jailed Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, has urged the international community to take immediate action to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). During an event at the Rawalpindi Arts Council, she highlighted the dire situation in the region and called for support of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mullick, who serves as the Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation, spoke at the inauguration of a photo exhibition dedicated to the third martyrdom anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani, a prominent figure in the Kashmiri resistance. She lauded Gilani’s enduring commitment to Kashmir’s struggle for autonomy and portrayed him as an inspirational figure for current and future generations of Kashmiri activists.

During her address, Mullick pointed out that the exhibition aims to shed light on the brutalities inflicted by Indian authorities in IIOJK, including the use of pellet guns, and the severe impact on local families, creating numerous “half-widows” and orphaned children. The displayed photographs starkly depict the violence and suffering endured by the Kashmiris.

Furthermore, Mullick criticized the international community and human rights organizations for their silence and inaction regarding what she described as “severe state terrorism” in IIOJK. She called for a global acknowledgment of the Kashmiris’ plight and a concerted effort to find a sustainable resolution to the conflict in Kashmir.
