Karachi, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, has announced the impending formation of a special Kashmir advisory committee. This committee, aimed at mobilizing support and finding a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue, will be established at the district level across the nation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mullick, in a conversation with a government TV channel, revealed that the advisory committee would be constituted soon. This multi-faceted board will include national and international diplomatic experts and will actively participate in advising on the Kashmir issue. The committee’s purpose is to provide comprehensive recommendations to the Government in response to the recent decision by the Indian Supreme Court.
Mullick emphasized the importance of the youth’s role in this endeavor. She encouraged them to utilize modern information technology tools to help raise awareness about the war crimes and human rights violations in Kashmir. Stressing the need for the youth to dedicate their time and energies to promoting the Kashmir cause, she highlighted the plight of the oppressed people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where residents face violence, torture, and other abuses.
She also called on students to intensify their political, diplomatic, and moral support for their counterparts in IIOJK, who are fighting for their right to self-determination. Mullick urged overseas youth to initiate online petitions against the Indian government’s demographic changes in Kashmir.
Moreover, Mullick demanded that international organizations pay attention and work towards the demilitarization of Kashmir in accordance with United Nations resolutions. She criticized the Indian government’s efforts to block access to international observers and its public relations campaigns aimed at suppressing information about the situation in Kashmir.
She expressed hope in the active role of the current UN Secretary-General in resolving the Kashmir dispute. Emphasizing that Jammu and Kashmir is a core dispute between Pakistan and India, she called for the international community’s involvement in peacefully resolving the issue in line with UN resolutions.
Finally, Mullick accused the Indian government of attempting to change the demographic character of the Muslim-majority region in IIOJK and disempower its residents. She urged the people to remain hopeful, vigilant, and proactive in safeguarding Kashmiri rights, including writing emails to the UN to highlight the suffering of Kashmiris.
