Musadik Urges Stronger Economic Ties with European Union


Geneva: In a meeting aimed at fostering international cooperation, Dr. Musadik Malik, Pakistan’s Minister for Climate Change, engaged in discussions with Ciobanu Dordea, Director for Circular Economy at the European Commission. The encounter, which took place in Geneva, centered on enhancing the economic partnership between Pakistan and the European Union, with a focus on circular economy and environmental sustainability.



Dr. Malik underscored the mutual benefits of a robust economic partnership with the EU, advocating for the integration of developing nations’ perspectives in global environmental policies. He highlighted opportunities for establishing green industrial clusters in Pakistan and extended an invitation to European firms to partake in this transformative initiative.



Ciobanu Dordea commended Pakistan’s dedication to sustainable practices, suggesting several potential avenues for collaboration, particularly in environmental management, waste management, and circular economy projects. The dialogue also explored pathways to bolster economic interactions between Pakistan and the private sectors of EU member states, aiming to strengthen ties and promote sustainable development initiatives.
