Murtaza Solangi Inaugurates 24-Hour PTV Multan Center, Commits to Fair Elections

Multan, In a significant step towards enhancing regional media coverage, Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has inaugurated the 24-hour transmission of PTV Multan Center, reaffirming the government’s dedication to conducting free and transparent elections in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the inauguration in Multan today [Wednesday], Solangi emphasized the freedom of the media, ensuring equal coverage for all political parties on state media. He articulated the vision for PTV Multan Center as a platform representing the voice of the people, focusing on addressing regional issues. The center is set to feature a variety of regional, cultural, musical, literary, and educational programs in its round-the-clock transmission.

Reflecting on his past role as Director General of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, the Minister recalled the initiation of Saraiki News Bulletins at the regional level from Radio Pakistan, Islamabad, with Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani reading the first bulletin. This step was a milestone in promoting regional languages and cultures through mainstream media.

Solangi also highlighted the wide reach of PTV’s transmission, which is now accessible in fifty countries through both terrestrial and cable networks within the country. This expansion not only brings regional issues to the forefront but also connects the diverse cultures of Pakistan with a global audience.

The inauguration of the PTV Multan Center marks a pivotal moment in regional broadcasting, aiming to bridge the gap between local communities and the wider national narrative, while upholding the principles of journalistic integrity and fairness during the upcoming elections.
