Munir Akram Advocates for Ceasefire in Palestine

United Nations, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, has called for immediate action to halt the aerial bombardment in Palestine, resulting in numerous Palestinian deaths. In an interview with Arab News, as reported by the Ministry of Information Broadcasting & National Heritage, Akram criticized the international community’s double standards, which he believes have emboldened Israel.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Akram stressed the need for a ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. He disputed Israel’s claim of self-defense in the current situation and pointed to the ongoing occupation of Palestine and the decades-long history of Palestinians being killed with impunity as the root causes of the current crisis. His remarks emphasize the urgency of addressing the imbalance at the heart of the international order and the application of international law.
