Mumbai Police Detain Woman Over Threat to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister

Mumbai: A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly issuing a death threat to Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. The arrest occurred after authorities traced a threatening message sent to a police WhatsApp number.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the suspect, identified as Fatima Khan, is a resident of Ulhasnagar in the neighboring Thane district. Khan, who holds a BSc in Information Technology, is described by the police as mentally unstable. Her family, including her father who is engaged in the timber business, also resides in Ulhasnagar.

The threat, which was received by the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp service, warned that Chief Minister Adityanath would face fatal consequences if he did not resign within ten days, drawing a parallel to the late NCP leader Baba Siddique. Upon investigation, it was determined that Khan had sent the threatening message.

The Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad, in collaboration with the Ulhasnagar police, conducted the operation leading to Khan’s apprehension. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident, particularly as Chief Minister Adityanath is expected in Maharashtra soon for the upcoming state assembly election campaign.
