Karachi, The Mughal Road, a crucial artery connecting the Shopian district in the Kashmir Valley with the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), was closed today due to fresh snowfall. The closure affects a vital link in the region, impacting travel and transport.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the road experienced fresh snowfall at several locations, including the high-altitude area of ‘Pir Ki Gali.’ This unexpected snowfall led to the decision to close the road as a safety measure. The closure was confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police PC Surankote, Hamid Ali Bandey.
The Mughal Road’s closure highlights the region’s challenging weather conditions, which often impact transportation and connectivity in the area. The road is a key route for the movement of people and goods between the Shopian district and the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, and its closure can have significant implications for the local population.
