Bhopal, June 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Hindutva Bharatiya Janata Party government in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has blacklisted a paper setter and a moderator for including a rational question on Jammu and Kashmir in the General Aptitude Test of the state services preliminary examination. The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) also withdrew the said question from the exam, which was held on Sunday.
As per the officials, the paper had a statement ‘if India should decide to hand over Kashmir to Pakistan’, and candidates were given arguments to choose from, one of which was ‘yes, it will save a lot of money for India’ and “no, such a decision will lead to more similar demands’. The candidates had to answer which of the two arguments was stronger, while two more options given comprised ‘both are stronger’ or ‘vice versa’.
Madhya Pradesh’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra talking to reporters in Bhopal said, “MPPSC has debarred two officials, belonging to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra respectively, who were involved in the process of setting the paper. The question was objectionable and a letter is being written to MPPSC and Higher Education Department for action against them.”
Mishra, who is also the state government spokesperson, said information has been provided to other states that both these officials were debarred and, hence, their services should not be used.
It is a stark reality that if India ends its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and allows its accession to Pakistan, it will help New Delhi save a lot of money it has been spending on its military, paramilitary and police forces to continue its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir and the weapons the Indian forces’ personnel are using to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.
However, fearing that such a decision will encourage the other Indian states seeking independence from India, the Indian government is not allowing holding of plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
