ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed officials to expedite the completion of the Islamabad Model Jail project, aiming for a swift conclusion of all outstanding tasks. Presiding over a meeting in Islamabad, Naqvi underscored the importance of finalizing construction, administrative, and other essential matters before the project’s anticipated inauguration next month.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting provided an update on the remaining work and the measures being implemented to ensure the project’s timely completion. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, who is personally overseeing the process, assured that all relevant institutions are collaborating to meet the schedule. Key officials, including the Director General FIA, the Federal Prosecutor General, and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, were in attendance to discuss the project’s progress.

Separately, Naqvi has ordered the immediate removal of encroachments across Islamabad, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach in the federal capital. During a city inspection, he reviewed civic facilities and cleanliness, and instructed a comprehensive beautification plan for roads and green spaces, alongside large-scale planting at vacant sites.
