Islamabad, December 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):Adviser on National Security Moeed Yusuf has emphasized the need for immediately sending humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan to feed about forty million Afghan people. In an exclusive interview with Hard Talk Program of BBC News, he said Afghanistan is faced with worst economic crisis and humanitarian disaster.
He warned if it goes further, Pakistan will face refugee crisis and international terrorist organizations will gain more space there. Moeed Yusuf said Pakistan has created a land and air bridge, asking the world to channel aid through it to Afghanistan free of cost.
The Adviser said Pakistan should not be blamed for the failure of Western countries in Afghanistan. He said we are the only country which kept saying there is no military solution to the Afghan conflict, but our advice was not heeded to. Moeed Yusuf said Pakistan’s efforts have been recognized by world community including the US and the UK for facilitating Doha peace process.
The Adviser on National Security said Pakistan wants stability in Afghanistan because if it heads towards instability and collapse, it will also harm and hurt us. When asked about relations with the United States, the Adviser on National Security said we do have a good bilateral dialogue but said the mistrust over Afghanistan still remains.
Moeed Yusuf said China is a great friend of Pakistan and relations between the two countries are going from strength to strength. He, however, said Pakistan is open to all the countries which can come and invest in the country. To a question, the Adviser on National Security said it is Pakistan’s right to speak for the rights of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Moeed Yusuf said Pakistan does not accept the western description of human rights situation in Chinese region of Xinjiang.
